I have spent many years trying to understand and heal my body.
In 1990, at age 18 I developed vitiligo.
First it started on my hand and then it spread it to my arms, chest and eventually my neck. The doctors didn't know what it was.
They said it was an auto immune disease.
At age 22,
I went to see a Chinese herbalist. He told me it was from the lungs. I was living in San Francisco where the weather is very damp and cold and I was riding my bike. A lot. He surmised that this was making my constitution wheezy and instead of improving my cardiovascular health it was actually causing poor circulation.
He told me the root cause.
Something Western doctors would not do.
In 1999, I was 27. That year my 55b year old mother had a heart attack. She is diabetic.
It was then that I took the low carb diet seriously.
Back then it was called the Atkins Diet. And, it changed my life.
I lost weight. And, I also felt great.
At 34, thinking low-carb was bad. I switched to a 1-2-3 diet. And, I quickly gained weight. I would binge eat and found it very hard to maintain a balance.
When I was 40 I went to see a naturopathic doctor. She encouraged me to eat grass fed beef, and lamb, fish, and to cut out the grains, legumes, gluten.
I did. Lost weight and felt great!
Over the years I yo-yo dieted, but returned to the low-carb lifestyle multiple times only to get information from the masse, telling me to do otherwise.
Like that time, a medical doctor told me that high-protein diets were bad for your kidneys. After that doctor visit, I went home and had a giant piece of chocolate cake.
Western medical world not only would give us mis-information but when shame us for our health choices and follies.
And then, like clockwork, every time I would return to the Standard AmericanDiet, I would gain weight and I would feel less great.
I wanted those gold stars at the doctors office.
Because that meant health, longevity.
I tried vegan diets, but they made me feel weak.
I tried "Keto" - I would eat chicken, eggs, fish, with veggies and I would still be hungry.
Because I didn't know about insulin resistance and fat adaptation.
Thus my 40's were spent yo-yo dieting. I knew that low-carb worked for me and made me feel better in my body, but all of the rhetoric that I was hearing was that low carb was bad.
I even accidentally discovered carnivore at one time. I was busy building my business and juggling multiple projects that sometimes I would just eat meat. And I felt great. But I felt guilty also. Because I wasn't eating my vegetables.
So I would set out to eat more veggies, more fiber, eat a more "balanced" diet. and then I would not feel great.
I would feel hungry and I would gain weight.
It wasn't until my 50s when I went into menopause. And I was in pain. I was bloated. I was struggling with plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and all manner of pain in my body. I was having hot flashes.
It was around this time I started seeing Steak and Butter Gal on Instagram.
She talked about how fat was good for you and how vegetables were bad for you.
And, it resonated. Because....
I had been there.
I had already done it before.
I knew she was right.
I knew I had to get back to my body.
And, it was Candi Frazier, who taught me in her Primal Bod program about insulin, about glycogen stores, about being fat-adapted and literally, everything, all of the pieces finally fell into place for me.
And it wasn't news.
At that point, I have already been on this journey for over two decades.
It was relief.
Finally people were talking about something I had know intuitively FOR YEARS.
At 51 (Jan 2024) I went carnivore and it changed my life.
Brain fog gone. Pain gone. ADHD gone. Menopause symptoms gone.
Depression and anxiety gone.
Libido back. Clarity back. Energy back.
This stuff is well-researched by lots of people.
Myself included.
As a 25 year psychotherapist specializing in sexuality, and usiI am no stranger to hearing stories about pain, inflammation, digestion and hormonal imbalances. It's important to make the connection between what our bodies consume and how it makes our bodies feel.
I am not here to advocate for a carnivore diet, but am here to share what I have learned about trusting your body, recognizing signs of inflammation and eating more intuitively.
It won't happen over night, but we can start.
I also cannot unsee the harm the American medical complex, pharmaceuticals, and big food corporations are doing to the American people.
It's EVERYWHERE.
We as a society and culture have been brainwashed to trust the medical system, but the medical system led me astray.
This is my story.
My approach to wellness is holistic, primal and complete.
Primal means it is meat based.
I started my journey towards understanding how food and stress impacts the body almost 30 years ago.
I don't create diet plans, nor do I work with weight loss goals, but I can support in your journey towards wellness and metabolic health.
And trust me, your body, mind and yes, libido will thank you.
Our bodies are constantly changing, and hormonal transitions can bring unexpected challenges—from anxiety, brain fog, and chronic pain to shifts in desire, identity, and relationships.
This work goes beyond symptom management to explore how hormones, stress, trauma, and the nervous system intersect.
Together, we'll help you better understand your body, reclaim your well-being, and move through life's transitions with greater resilience and self-compassion.
It's no secret, nor coincidence that our physical health, is connected to our emotional health, spiritual health, our sexual health and so forth. We cannot continue to separate any of these, nor can we treat them separately.
In my work I strive to give you as many tools as I can to help you connect your parts, put yourself and your body back together.
My goal is to connect us to the root causes of our issues, and the systemic structures that are contributing to our internal dissatisfaction.
Nutrition & metabolic reset is a big part of that, and has been a huge part of my personal journey. Understanding inflammation and hormone regulation in my body led me to learning to eat and live primal.
It has been a life changer for me.
Below I provide some resources to help you get started on your journey to healthy lifestyle.
I recognize we all have separate journey's. I share mine only to inspire, and not to tell you how to live yours.
Here is a little story of how I healed my menopause symptoms

A Holistic Approach
At least 4 out of 10 humans on planet Earth are deficient in Iodine (maybe even you). Iodine is used by every cell in your body and you will suffer from not getting enough in your diet. Given that our world is currently swimming in fluoridated water and bromine additives, the amount recommended is not nearly enough.
